Starting from 01st June 2026, there will be slight changes in salik toll and paid parking fees. The Road and Transport Authority (RTA) announced the Value added Tax to both salik toll and RTA paid parking services. The change has influenced predominantly the commuters of Sharjah and Dubai and ofcourse somewhat effect on commuters of other emirates.The VAT rate will be 5% as of the regular one.

 

VAT on Salik and Paid Parking Applicability:

The new rule set to commence on the follow services, as confirmed by Roads and Transport Authorities:

Salik:

  • *New Salik tag registration / activation
  • *Salik toll gates passing charges

Parking:

  • *Paid parking services across Dubai

New Salik and Parking Charges:

  • *The new salik charges will change fro AED 4 to AED  4.20
  • *The peak-hours salik toll will change from AED 6 to AED 6.30

 

The new changes are not substantially increased for those people who are not frequent travellers of these salik toll gates.
